25/09/09... Very stylish watch from the famous ETRIERE (meaning stirrup) range. The ETRIER was made in ladies or gents, the latter having a top mounted crown. This ladies one is in high quality stainless steel which looks like white gold. Smallish size 20mm across, the watch is meant to have a 10mm strap as shown but wider straps maybe preferred and often fitted. Has a lovely JLC movement which has had recent service and goes well to good time. Signed case, signed crown and movement. Supplied with a period genuine JLC ladies box.
This model is also known as the Driver's watch and may be worn on the side of the wrist but can be worn in the conventional position as well. Dial is original and shows some age but it is 45 years old. JLC do a fancy modern version with diamonds for 27000 euros. The Etrier is a mechanical watch and requires winding daily. It has polished case and crystal and a new basic strap but you may wish to buy one to suit your personal preference.
