DESCRIPTION:
One of the classic models of the 20th Century and designed in the 1950s by the revered Gerald Genta. The Polerouter cost the same as a Rolex Explorer but had a much more advanced auto mechanism with the first watch ever to have the micro-rotor. The Polerouter was issues to cabin crew of the SAS Scandinavian Air Systems and came in several models, this one is the JET and is in stainless steel with screw back case. The watch has been serviced and had the steel case refinished. Polished crystal and new strap. My watchmaker couldn't get a universal crown, so he fitted an IWC one.. bless him. ~34mm case size. Dial is original and would have been very costly to make. Polerouter/Polarouter seems to be spelled differently by Universal themselves.
