DESCRIPTION:
Reduced..Very rare and desirable pocket watch. This one is swiss by JULES SUEUR of Geneva. Cased in silver and made circa 1850, the keywind watch has a fine jewelled movement with counterpoised steel side lever which is was a patent. The movement is a single train hence the value of the watch being half that of versions with independent sweep seconds. The Captains watch is so called because the home time and the longitude time can be seen. This watch is inscribed on the cuvee as a Railway Time Keeper, so that time from local and distant regions in a different time zone can be seen. Been serviced but its delicate nature and value should constrain it to the collector's cabinet. Size is 48mm by a slim 12mm thickness.
